Jade Thomas

PhD student


Jade Thomas is a teaching assistant in literature in English in the Department of Linguistics and Literary Studies at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). She holds an MA in English and German Literature from VUB. Her MA thesis focussed on the posthumanist dimensions of cultural industry representations in the theatre of American playwright Sam Shepard. She combines her assistantship at VUB with a part-time programme in the Educational Master and freelance research work for the radio station Klara. She is also preparing an FWO-application to conduct a doctoral research on contemporary Asian American playwrights and performance artists. Her research interests include contemporary American literature and drama, theatre studies, media studies, and posthumanism.
