Eszter Vass
Biography
Eszter Vass (she/her) is a doctoral student in a joint PhD programme at the University of Konstanz, Germany and Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium (VUB). Her dissertation examines the intersection of trauma and self-reflexivity on the contemporary British stage, looking at the works of Ella Hickson, Travis Alabanza, Duncan Macmillan, Tim Crouch, and Jasmine Lee-Jones. Her project is funded by the German Academic Scholarship Foundation. She has presented her work at the conference “Recentring Form(s) in and of the Margins: The Politics of Self-Reflexivity” at VUB, and she regularly participates in the PhD Forums at the conferences of the German Society for Contemporary Theatre and Drama in English (CDE). In 2023, she completed a research stay at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, funded by the Konstanzia MEiN Programme.
