Dave Gunning

Dave Gunning teaches English literature at the University of Birmingham, UK. He has extensive interests in black British writing and has published widely on the topic, including articles in Contemporary Literature, Moving Worlds, the Journal of Commonwealth Literature, and the Journal of Postcolonial Writing. With Abigail Ward he edited a special issue of Atlantic Studies called ‘Tracing Black America in British Culture’ (2009). His book Race and Antiracism in Black British and British Asian Literature was published by Liverpool University Press in 2010, and re-issued as a paperback in 2012.
