Giovanna Buonanno

Giovanna Buonanno lectures in English Literature and Drama at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. She is the author of the monograph International Actresses on the Victorian Stage (Modena,  Il Fiorino, 2002) and co-editor, among others, of Appartenenze Multiple: Prospettive interdisciplinari su immigrazione, identità e dialogo interculturale (Rome, Officina, 2011, with M. Bondi and C. Giacobazzi) and Remediating Imagination: Literatures and Cultures in English from the Renaissance to the Postcolonial (Rome, Carocci, 2016 with G. Angeletti and D. Saglia). She has published numerous journal articles and book chapters on intercultural drama, transnational Shakespeare, Black and Asian British literature and theatre, transnational women’s writing.  Her current research focuses on the theme of displacement in contemporary English women’s fiction and drama.
