Nicola Abram

Nicola Abram is Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Reading, UK. She is currently working on a monograph examining non-naturalistic aesthetics in black British women's theatre, which develops from her PhD (University of Reading, 2013). She has existing publications on two contemporary playwrights: an article on debbie tucker green in Journal of Contemporary Drama in English (2014) and a chapter on Winsome Pinnock in Modern and Contemporary Black British Theatre (Basingstoke: Palgrave Macmillan, 2014). Nicola enjoys teaching black British and women’s writing, among a wide range of other subjects, and has organised pedagogic workshops on literary representations of ‘race’, racism and ethnicity for school/college and university teachers.
