Ulla Rahbek
Biography
Ulla Rahbek is an associate professor of postcolonial studies at Copenhagen University, Denmark. She wrote her MA thesis on the Australian author Christina Stead and her doctoral dissertation on the Black-British writer Caryl Phillips. Her research and publications are primarily concerned with Black British literature and culture, contemporary multicultural British literature and Australian children’s literature. She is currently working on a study of aesthetic responses to living in contemporary multicultural Britain, focusing on a series on autobiographies and novels that engage in issues pertaining to multiculturalism. She teaches both postcolonial and British studies as well as literary theory and textual analysis.
