Biography
Vedrana Velickovic is a Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Brighton, UK. Her principal interests are in contemporary Black British and post-communist literatures and cultures. Her doctoral research explored the representations of (un)belonging in Black British and post-Yugoslav women’s writing, focusing on the work of Bernardine Evaristo , Zadie Smith, Dubravka Ugresic and Vesna Goldsworthy. Vedrana is particularly interested in interrogating the critical reading of Black British writing as Bildungsromane, as well as in exploring the links between post-colonialism and post-communism. She has published articles on these topics in the Journal of Postcolonial Writing.
