Join us in congratulating Isabella Villanova, who has been awarded an MSCA postdoctoral fellowship for her project AFROPEMOTIONS: Rethinking Emotions, Inequality, and Resistance through Afropean Women’s Fiction. Starting in September, she will join CLIC and work under the supervision of Elisabeth Bekers.
In AFROPEMOTIONS, Isabella Villanova will explore how 21st-century Afropean women’s fiction addresses themes of emotion, inequality, and resistance. Through a combination of literary and social analysis, she seeks to uncover the role emotions play in literature while highlighting issues of discrimination and inequality in European societies. By situating literature within broader societal debates, this project offers new perspectives on identity and inclusion.
