The Eleventh International Conference of the Centre for Caribbean and Diaspora Studies (CCDS) at Goldsmiths (University of London) will take place in the London Metropolitan Archives from 22 to 23 September 2023.
In the Shadow of Empire? Situating Black British Writing
Co-organised by the Black British Writers and Scholars Alliance, this year's conference theme addresses the limited visibility of Black British writing and seeks to interrogate the large-scale absence of Black scholarship in academia.
In the panel on Form and Innovation in Black British Writing, CLIC members Prof. Elisabeth Bekers, Katrijn Van den Bossche and Dr. Laura Fish (Northumbria University) discuss the contemporary genre development of the Black-British Neo-Slave narrative.
