Roberta Colombi
Biography
Roberta Colombi is associate professor of Italian Literature at Roma Tre University. Her publications include works dedicated to 17th-century novels (Lo sguardo che «s’interna». Personaggi e immaginario interiore nel romanzo italiano del Seicento, 2002), of which she has also proposed new editions (Luca Assarino, La Stratonica, 2003 and Ferrante Pallavicino, Il principe ermafrodito, 2005), and to nineteenth-century culture. In particular, she has dedicated two volumes to humorous literature: Ottocento stravagante. Umorismo, satira e parodia tra Risorgimento e Italia unita (2011) and Un umorista in maschera. La narrativa di Antonio Ghislanzoni (2012) – of which she also edited Le memorie di un gatto (2024). Furthermore, her interest in the relationship between literature and history has resulted in numerous articles, as well as in the editing of the volume Il Risorgimento tra Storia e finzione (2021) and the book La verità della finzione. Il romanzo e la storia da Manzoni a Nievo (2022). She has also written on 20th-century literature with essays on Pirandello, Palazzeschi, Svevo, Gadda, Calvino, Cerami, and on contemporary narratives, particularly history-themed ones.
