The next WOLEC-session will take place on 18 February from 12:00 to 13:00 in room 5C402
This time around it will not be a lecture, but a discussions-session based on a text within the theme of “defining narrative”. The text will be sent to participants when they will register for this session by sending an email to the organizer, Carolien Van Nerom (Carolien.Van.Nerom@vub.be). It is an excerpt from the book "A Theory of Musical Narrative" (2008/2017) by Byron Almén in English. Although this text is extremely relevant to scholars whose research is pertinent with narrativity of music, it is also very accessible for literary scholars interested in narrative theory. The goal of this session is to gain a broader perspective on narrative that is suitable to our own research groap CLIC with its focus on intermediality.
Those of you who have an additional text that fits in with the theme, can send this to Carolien Van Nerom (this is non-compulsory of course). Because the idea is to spread this text to the participants of the session, please make sure that the fragment of text is not too long so as not to give people too much reading work.
Please register before 10 February in order for the moderator to send you the text in time.
Sandwiches will be provided.
