On 19 May, CLIC is organizing a screening of the techno-choreographic performance 'Being River'. CLIC's 2025/2026 Lorand Chair Shuangyi Li will provide an introduction to the performance.

   

  MERLIT researcher, Ceydanur Temurok participated in the annual GAPS (Association for Anglophone Postcolonial Studies) conference at Osnabrück University, Germany from 14-16 May 2026. The theme of this year's conference was Postcolonial Transfers: Translation, Transition, Transformation .

  On Friday 15 May 2026 MERLIT researcher, Maria Pace Aquilina presented her paper 'Theatres of Privacy: Hidden Interiors, Erotic Surveillance, and Spatial Politics in William Wycherley's The Country Wife' as part of the 36th International SEDERI conference.

  On 28 April 2026, MERLIT Researcher, Maxime Honinx discussed how Isabella Frances Romer attempts to avoid 'the squeezing of a squeezed lemon' in her 1846 travelogue, A Pilgrimage to the Temples and Tombs of Egypt, Nubia, and Palestine, in 1845-6.
